20 Days of Gold Making - Day 3!
Welcome Back to day 3: 20 Days of Gold making madness!
Today's question - What were the first techinques, tips, or tricks, you used when starting out?
While leveling my Paladin I really didn't know much about making gold as I stated before. When I came around to even knowing what stats I needed I was around 40 or so...sad right!? Once I had leveled my first few Rogues to level 20 or so...I knew to sell everything and if you "had" Professions - Gather everything you could to either vendor or put on the ah.
Moving forward by a few years and lots of grinding later, I started working the ah by flipping items. I would log in and scan the ah using auctionneer and look at the resale tab, buy everything I could afford at low prices and post all of it. Honestly without much thought, seeing as I didn't know what things would sell for most of the time. I had some small success stories but they were very few and far between. I found some Black diamonds for cheap one time, didn't know they were used for the Insane title until a friend told me about it...So, I sold them at a decent profit and made close to 500 or so gold. Pretty good for not really knowing much.
After I got into the flipping game more and more I would go crazy with it and buy everything I could to try and flip it. I eventually spent a lot of my gold I had saved on a guild bank and would put everything in it to store. Most of the stuff was just random junk I got for cheap and looking back, I did it just to pay for some repairs and gems/enchants because I didn't know any better.
I learned a little more about the AH game in Cataclysm, started looking more into flipping cloths and more useful items I knew would sell. I finished leveling my professions at the time and got right into the JC shuffle which was my biggest money maker personally in Cata. I quickly burned out though and never really pushed it far.
So, lets move on from my history and talk about current events!
Today, I still flip items everyday. It's my biggest money maker by far as I am still trying to break into the crafting scene! I haven't messed with transmog other than a handful of gear and weapons because I feel that the competition is very high and I am still fresh over even the 20k mark. The one item I do sell and keep up on the AH at all times is the Brunnhildar Harpoon - I have sold 4 of these for 250g each which pays for "some" of the deposits, at the end of the day I guess. I just like seeing that one sell for some reason! So I sell it.
The main market I flip in is the 83-84 Mists of Pandaria Green's market. Which I learned about from Jim over at PW:G - I really like this market because it seems very low maintenance with high profits! Pulling in around 1k or more each time I check my mail!
The other main flipping market I post in would be "Faids Vendor Market" I really like this market because its pretty much free gold - You're buying stuff from vendors and selling it to people at a profit...simple. I don't make that much gold over all from this one maybe around 1k per week but still it pays the repair bills! Can't complain much about that one.
So those are my main flipping markets, recently I have been trying to get more into profession crafting markets.. this makes me nervous because this is where "most" of the big boys/girls play. I will take that plunge soon but I want to make sure I have some capital in case everything goes to hell...(More on this soon! )
Anyways I hope this gave someone some insight or you're just enjoying the gold making blogging going on all over the interwebs, like me!
Thanks for stopping by, as always!
